In Part 1 of our blog series, 4 Pillars of a Disruption Proof Pet Food Business, we shared how planning for the unplannable and adhering to the highest standards have helped us tackle the unprecedented challenges of 2020 and the global pandemic.
In this post, we’ll take a look at the final 2 Pillars.
Put people first. Period.
Back in March, we didn't really know what we were dealing with. So, every piece of information from the CDC, the FDA, and local / state public health authorities was taken into account. We have a site-by-site, state-by-state crisis plan and response plan that is evolving and dynamic every single day as new information becomes available to us.
Associate Safety is one of our non-negotiables. We apply the same level of dedication and standards to guaranteeing a safe work environment. For people safety, we immediately increased cleaning, mask-wearing, social distancing, sanitation stations, and implemented strict health screening questions. We also successfully moved the majority of our corporate associates to remote officing.
As a Values-Driven organization, keeping our associates healthy is at the core of everything we do.
Have a Redundancy of Supply
We have redundancy of supply. We don't have one, we don't have two, we have multiple North American suppliers for our raw materials and packaging to make sure that our continuity of supply and our business model stays effective and undisrupted. We are part of essential services, we are part of the food chain. We put food into consumer's households every single day, so we will do our best, as Red Collar, to continue to run, no matter what the crisis is and no matter what the challenges we face.
We will continue to be agile, nimble and dynamic as we lead through this pandemic. We want our partners and our pet parents to know that we’ve got this! We know how to operate and thrive in a crisis environment.
And some of what we’ve learned during the pandemic will stick around.
Together, as Red Collar associates, we are #RedCollarStrong.
